Taking Care of Ourselves

February 18, 2009

Always remember we don’t have to wait for someone else to come to our aid – we are not victims, we are not helpless. Teachers will come when they’re needed (remember that old saying, ‘when the student is ready the teacher will appear’) and they will care – but they can’t fix us. There are no white knights or magical godmothers waiting to rescue us. We are our own rescuers. So take the time to care for yourself as you might for someone else, and stop trying to fix and rescue everything outside of you. YOU must be at the top of your own list. From that vantage point, the rest will fall into place. The more you can learn to love yourself, the more that energy of love will be drawn to you . . . and that’s one of the simple principles of karma.
